I have just used lightscribe for the first time and it took 15 minutes to burn the label. Is this normal? If not, how can I remedy this. It is way too long if you want to burn a series of cds.

Yes 15 minutes is about normal! (12-25 depending on the Image)
The reason is simple, unlike DATA which only uses PART of the surface, a LABEL USES ALL OF THE SURFACE.
This is necessary for a full disk image.
2 Curved Text Items (Simple Labeler) take the shortest time & Straight Text Items & Images require more time.
