Hello everyone. I have a TSST Corp. DL-DVD R/RW drive that is detected by the operating system but my simple text labels are barely visable, ever after 2 passes. I have the latest LS software including Simple Labeler. I changed the only contrast setting in the LS Control Panel and I'm using HP DVD-R LightScribe disks. This is a new drive and three test DVD's all came out the same way - too light for me to see the label. Any help is appreciated.

Hi rreboa !
I'm using an HP Pavillion dv9825nr Notebook PC, running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1+.
I also have an HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx Notebook PC, running Windows 7 Home Premium.
I also have an HP PhotoSmart C8180 All-In-One Printer. Both have built-in LS Drives.
Each has a built-in LS Drive.
Everything has been running LSS fine since 4/08.
The drives recognized by the HP Pavillion dv9825nr Notebook PC are as follows:

An experiment with the 2nd system produced a lighter version of the same label.
Also DVDs have an extra layer of plastics & are lighter than CDs for the same label.
These 2 thing suggest to me that the drive & the type of media are a large factor in what you've observed.
I would say that the strength of the Read/Write Diode used to create the label can be the biggest single reason for light labels.

I've found that the software used makes a big difference in the legibility of whatever's put on the disc. I've got the best results with SureThing CD-DVD labeler Pro.
