Why am I not surprised after reading this forum...

I just got a brand new HP pav quad-core Win 7 TODAY.

Drive will not open

Drive not found

I tried all this, then updated Win and the LightScribe software, utility,etc, and still nothing...computer seems to work fine, but the dvd appears to be junk...I think that HP needs to rethink what types of DVD's they are putting into their machines...who the heck puts a label media dvd in a gamer computer anyways...thats stupid...i have already spent a number of hours playing with everything, updating everything, and nothing...if this is not going to be a simple fix, then I will just take the entire machine back for a refund...I am not going to have a junk dvd player in my machine, and wonder when it will go out next...from what I have read, this seems to be a very high risk dvd player, and I have never-ever had any type of dvd problems in my entire life.

I am very disappointed in HP putting cheap junk parts in their computers.
