LightScribe came with my Compaq 515 laptop running 32 bit Vista Home Basic. Upgraded the other day to 64 bit Win7 Home Premium, complete(custom install). Reinstalled LightScribe from HP Application disc, upgraded with the exe file (dated 10-16-09) downloaded from this website, and ran the diagnostic utility and did report print out. No matter what, LightScribe just won't load, double clicking desktop icon or start menu folders does nothing; only the LightScribe Control Panel opens. ??? Read on some website about hacking program files but that sounds extreme. Please help. Doon't LightScribe run on 64 bit OS, Win7, or both? SB644

Hi Surferbob644 !

The LightScribe Template Labeler, Simple Labeler, & Control Panel are all installed on my Vista system under Program Files(86), so appear to be 32bit applications.

I assume from this that the LightScribe System Software and everything else are also 32bit programs.

Doesn't Windows 7 support or have a Compatibility Mode like Vista?

Hey Cimofj2, I checked and Win7 installed LightScribe under Program Files (x86) of which I uninstalled and reinstalled w/the exe update file, but it's still doing the same thing. Any help or links to find a solution, I'd greatly appreciate. I had LightScribe on my old computer and used it quite a bit and would like to use it on this new one too. SB644
