LightScribe Forum : Label Designs : Can I create my own product-specific label design?

Hi all...

I've been using an inkjet printer to print full-color artwork on white CDs/DVDs. I realize I can't do that with LightScribe.

But can I create my own personalized monochrome artwork to span most of the LS media surface and save it as a LS template I can use again repeatedly?

This means I won't be using any pre-made LS templates - it will be totally custom made. Is this relatively easy to accomplish? I'm a graphic designer but this is my first shot at using LS.

Short of actual suggestions or advice, could someone point me to a how-to for this?

Thanks a lot ~ John

The specific procedure is going to depend on what Lightscribe labeling program you are going to use. For example, if you are using the Lightscribe Template Labeler simply create your 'background" image as a 1200 x 1200 .jpg image file (see if color or greyscale gives you the contrast you desire) and add that image to your chosen template. You would then save the project as a label (.lsl) for future repetitive use as a label.
