LightScribe Forum : Open Topic - General Questions : Problem printing on second pass.... Any help muchly appreciated... The first CD I printed was fine but I wanted to reprint to make it slightly darker.  It came out fine.
However when I tried it again the first print looked absolutely fine, although quite light, but when I reprinted it ended up with concentric rings the whole way through it slighly worse in some sections than others.
I tried it another time with another label and design, and again it came out fine the first time and the second time messed it up in the same way as the previous two. 
I made sure that I didn't use the laptop while it was printing. It is a quite powerful dual core machine so I didn't really think this could be the cause, but I wanted to rule it out as I was browsing the first time it went wrong.
By the way I have been very careful handling the discs, straight from (middle of) the spindle holding only the right way.
I have seen a couple of others ask about the same problem, including one with a picture which is very similar to mine except mine is more even. Topic is titled 'Problem never seen before?'
I know you didn't seem to come up with a solution but was wondering if you had yet or if you had heard of this happening often.
I have already started transferring a lot of my stuff onto this new laptop, but now I'm wondering will I have to send it back to be fixed?

The LS Control Panel has a setting to darken the label.

I did an experiment with a Forum User that I share My Custom Templates with.

I burned the LS Template called "Mondrian" (Multiple Image Items & One Text Item) with some large (1200x1200 pixel JPG File) "calibration" Images I use to check my drives.

He is a Photo Specialist & I sent him a high resolution scan of the resulting label.

We examined the scan at a large magnification & found "rings" that were very very close together, but barely visible.

We concluded that the visibility of the "rings" is "normal", but it is a result of the burning process & very very dependant on the drive model.

But I can assure you that there is nothing normal about the rings on my cds.  I would obviously expect to find rings normal to the burning process if I looked at them at high magnification!
What I am talking about is nothing like that.  It is a very noticeable uneven printing that completely destroys the image, without magnification!
 It doesn't happen on the first burn, the first burn looks fine, it only happens on the second burn, and as I said it is most certainly not a normal result. 
It sounds as if you are unaware of a fix for this problem so I was wondering if you could advise me who to contact in Lightscribe to try and resolve this as it is a brand new computer and I expect it to be working right, so I want to know whether to send it back sooner rather than later, and also while I still have a loan laptop from the insurance co....
