Hi all. I hope some of you out there can help me. I'm about at my wits end with Lightscribe. The technology seems to be just too finicky. It will work fine for awhile and then stop. I have wasted so much money on blanks it is ridiculous. Anyhow, enough ranting and on to my problem. Here are my specs:

Optiarc AD7191S burner

Windows 7 Ultimate

Quad core processor on a ASUS P5KC mobo

verbatim lightscribe disks

Everything was going fine for awhile with the verbatim disks, but now, every time I try and burn something, I can't. When I look at the properties, it says the whole disk is used up and there is no free space. I get the choice when i insert the disk as formatting as a USB flash style disk or as a DVD/CD. The DVD/CD option is greyed out so I can't choose it. When i choose the USB flash style disk (which I don't even want), I get an error message saying the disk is write protected???? Other disks (Tayo Uiden) work fine...but they aren't lightscribe disks.

I installed the latest LS software and reinstalled all drivers after uninstalling in safe mode. Problem still persists. Anyone have any ideas on what is going on?
