Lightscribe newb, here.

I've seen samples of lightscribe disks printed with color. Also, I've noticed the several trial Lightscribe software packages allow for a vast array of colors. That said, the only color I've been able to produce is whatever color the lightscribe disc comes in, say black writing on a yellow disc.

Do I need to drop some coin on a "color" lightscribe burner. Is there such a thing. Also, are there white lightscribe disks? I've never seen them. Color graphics on a white disc would be fabulous.

Thanks.

Hi johnnyforkball !

To the best of my knowledge, the only color you can get is grayscale burned on a color label surface.

Currently, the LightScribe Technology only does grayscale.

You can only darken part of the surface of a disk with a colored label surface and leave part of it un-burned and leave the surface color.

The best I know, no disk or drive manufacturer has solved the color problem.

I just brought a pack of 50 Philips Lightscribe discs on e bay at a cost of £20 including postage, these came with full size jewel cases and in five colours Red, Blue,Gold, Green and Orange, they look great when printed but the design on the Gold one stands out best. Hope this helps.
