LightScribe Forum : Open Topic - Labeling Software : Triple Burn - Eject Issue - Please Help

So I using Nero to burn my labels. I need to "print" the label 3 times at maximum contrast in order to get the level of contrast I desire. After each print run the DVD is ejected and I have to push the tray in again to make it continue. If I'm not around when it ejects, I often have to start the job over again. Here are my questions:

1) Is there an easier way to do this so that it does 3 passes on the DVD without ejecting.

2) Is there a faster way to get it to burn a more contrasty image. Right now, it takes me an hour to burn a perfect DVD image (20 minutes per pass).

3) Do I need different software? Is anything else faster / better?

I recommend that you check if there is a firmware update for your optical drive. Firmware updates normally correct problems and improve drive performance, including better media recognition and burn quality.

Did you try to run the software update from the download button provided on the LightScribe Software Update webpage? It was recently updated and now has version “1.12.37.1” released March 28, 2008 available.

http://lightscribe.com/downloadSection/windows/index.aspx?id=810

Open the LightScribe control panel. To do this, double click the LightScribe icon in the System Tray in the lower right corner of your Window or select Start/All Programs/LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling/LightScribe Control Panel and select the settings tab.

You may choose to increase the contrast of your labels by trading off some labeling time. Once this is set, it will remain in effect unless you change it, even with new LSS updates.

Although the print times will be longer, you should use the "Enhanced" mode to give you the best print quality. This may take about half an hour, but you can just let it print in the background and do other things on your computer.

Another method that sometimes helps is to do some pre-processing of the image in a Photo tuning program. By increasing the contrast of the image or converting it to black and white, the higher black density can result in a higher contrast output.

YES, you can re-burn disks multiple times.

There is a mark on the hub which makes multiple burns pretty accurate (they do shift and too many burns will make more smears!).

PS I guess some people have time to log-in!!!
