Hello. I would appreciate any advice. I have a new duplication machine (w/Lightscribe) USB'd into my computer (for ministry). When I tried Nero Cover Designer (Nero 9) twice it gives me an error: "Lightscribe print process failed. A communication error has occurred with the Lightscribe drive." Both times I tried it, it printed a portion of the label but not the entire thing. Does anyone have any suggestions to try? Thank you for your help. -Marty

Generally speaking the proprietary software that comes with the duplicator enables the .lsi file creation ability. The duplicator supplied software is installed on the PC (usually WITHOUT the duplicator connected to the PC) and the model number of the duplicator is entered or chosen in the device selection installation window. If the duplicator is connected to the PC during installation Windows may see one of the duplicator drives as an optical drive and install the drive as a peripheral. (usually the bottom target drive in the duplicator) That incorrect method of installation will result in being unable to create a .lsi file. (a .lsl file is the only result) When installed correctly, the duplicator model # is shown as a lightscribe drive and the "print" function creates a .lsi file that is saved to the PC hard drive and burned on a CD for use in the duplicator.
