I am using LS 1.10.23.1 on a Vista machine.  I cannot seem to enter accented characters onto labels (í, ó, ñ, å) using the alt-xxxx codes.  Am I doing something wrong or is this the norm for this software?  Thanks in advance.

Hi Tony !

Use the Character Map Program to select & copy the character to the Clipboard; and then Paste it into the Text Item.

I haven't figured out if there is a simpler way, but I have managed to get most of the Special Character into a label.

These steps should work with many of the characters in a font.

You'll have to make all the character in he Text Item come from the same font, so it might require a little experimenting to find a font you like for the Text Item.

I know I can use the Character Map and I have tried it and it works perfectly, however tediously.  I have got very used to using the alt-codes in just about every software I can think of and I was wondering why this particular software will not permit alt-codes.  Thanks again.

Hello again Tony !

I was able to type "ÁÂÃÄzéÿ" into Notepad using ALT Codes (The character doesn't show until the ALT key is released); Copy the Character; and the Paste them into a Text Item in the LS TL.

You would have to prepare the text first and then Copy/Paste it into a template.

Would this be better?

Thanks again for taking the time.  I have been doing exactly what you recommended except I use Word instead of Notepad.  It works fine; I have just finished labelling a multi-lingual CD and I would have driven myself nuts using the Character Map.  So Word  came to the rescue.  Not the perfect solution but a working one.
