Resize Text Box?

I need to be able to resize the text boxes to fit different amounts of text.  From my research on this forum it looks like I'll have to manually edit the '.lst' file.  Is this correct?  My pc came with a label program, but it was a trial version instead of a lite version.  I HATE trials of programs on new pc's.  Anybody know what the oldest version of Nero that supports lightscribe is?  I really need the flexibility of moving and resizing, just can't afford a new program right now.

I know it's a lot of questions, but thanks in advance.

JB

Hi JBiv !

I think LightScribe support started with Nero 6.

To edit an LST File you'll need to learn XML and use XML Notepad 2007, WordPad, or Notepad for an editor.

On another note:

How I create Labels Containing a Track List

I've put together some stuff I use to create CD Labels.

  • I wrote up the procedure I use in a PDF File.
  • I make PDF Files of any Documentation I create.
  • I have V1.14.32.1 of the LSS & since Version 1.17.90.1 of both the LSS & the corresponding Diagnostic Utility.
  • I include an "Additional Stuff" Folder which contains anything I create while developing My Custom Templates.
  • I created ZIP Files for 6 Windows Vista "Right-Click" Directory Commands I developed to support making Track Lists & other procedures I use.
  • I "ripped off" the "Template Playlist Beta" (For which LS has NO documentation, NO source, & LAID OFF the Technician) "Full" & "Half" Disk Templates; fixed them; & then create a ZIP File of the two templates.
  • I am working to develop another CD Template.
  • I have a PDF that contains "Template vs Simple Labelers" - a comparison of what is the structure of each template.
  • I found 5 FREE Tools I use for development, & have more I am testing.
  • I have a PDF which contains a "Mini Resume" & a lot of "LightScribe Stuff" I've researched.
  • I continually develop PDFs on the Tools I use for development.
  • I developed 177 Custom Templates for the Template Labeler.
  • I developed 6 collections of Images.
  • I developed a New Custom Wedding Template for one Forum User & I did one for another Forum User.
  • I fixed one LSL File for another User by changing a White Outline of some Text to Black.
  • I created Previews of all my Custom Templates & Images & have Mini-Catalogues of both as PDF Files.
  • I created 174 ICONS & a PDF Preview.
  • I developed 4 Test "borders" for the Simple Labeler.
  • I tend to concentrate on Filling the entire disk surface especially with TEXT, Bold, Outline, White Text, & More Font Control.
  • I have just finished designing 4 Custom Templates which use Circular Text Items & Circular, Oval, & Diamond Shaped Images.
  • I published 3 Newsletters & a List of Newsletter Topics about what I've been doing & 2 other FREE Programs I've been researching.
  • I am studying the XML parts of the 2007 Versions of Microsoft Office Access, Excel, & Word.
  • I developed 6 User Defined Functions in VBA for Excel.
  • I have all this & more in My MS Windows Live Skydrive.
  • I am sharing my work with 140 Forum Users.

Send me a Private MESSAGE containing:

  • Your correct E-mail Address (REQUIRED BY SITE to send links);
  • Your full name (For my records); &
  • A nickname you use (For my records).

I am retired on a disability, & I do this TOTALLY FREE.

I also try my best to keep E-mail Addresses confidential. I use "Blind Carbon Copies" when I send out anything.

I only occasionally send out Special Notifications, if I do something major.

The only "COST" is your E-mail Address which is REQUIRED by My Windows Live Skydrive to allow access to the stuff I've developed.

I am retired and on disability as well, just have not been able to work for only a short time but decided to play around with computers a little and just finished my first build. I know next to nothing about writing even little applets or macros, seems to take me more time to try to make the thing that it would to actually go through doing the function or process. I make too many typos maybe.
I just put windows7x64, have used LightScribe in vista 32 and made a ton of templates for more than a year .  I have made well over 500 different discs mostly text and borders only though.(I used up my first HP LightScribe burner already) I have been able to store these in the template folder just under the background and thumbnail folders.
I have the latest version at this time and i am prohibited from saving anything there now.   I need some administrator privileges but I am the only one listed on this computer and can not work around this one yet.
Anyone else have this issue. In my last config i never had an issue from day one and i used that spot because the software led me there.  I see nothing in print about this issue either.
Thanks
jd

Hi johnniedoo !

I had a similar problem with privileges when I first got this system.

I was able to go into some main folders and used advanced editing of properties to change the privileges to fix the "Access Denied" problems.

When you say you have about 500 disk designs, do you mean you actually wrote the XML Code to make templates or did you use a program other than the LightScribe Template Labeler?
