Hi Gage !

I had the same problem when I started in 04/08.

My problems were with the first 2 spindles of Memorex.

I cleaned both the drive and the LABEL side of those first disks with a Philips Cleaning Kit.

I recovered all but one of those disks and it had a bad DATA side.

Since then, I have only had a few times when I had to retry a few times.

I'm glad you were able to get something working, but sorry about the money.

Several other of us Users have had similar problems, but solved their problems.

It took one User waiting for 6 months while HP solved an issue with a drive labeled in their Database as being LS Capable but wasn't.

I don't know if they really fixed the error or not, and I don't know how many people were effected by the mistake.

Hi Gage !

Are the LS Marks in the Hub "scratched"?

That's how they look in the Picture you posted!

If the disks are really scratched, maybe HP will replace them?

Were you able to find undamaged one?

I have an asus lightscribe dvd burner and bought a 25 pack of HP lightscribe cd-r's and a 25 pack of HP lightscribe dvd's. The dvd's burn with lightscribe great but it will not recognize the cd-r's at all to burn a label. All it does is sit -n- spin and blink the light. I can burn data or music on them so I guess it's not a total loss but I would have bought much cheaper disks if that was all I wanted. I won't buy HP disks again.
