I used to be able to use the templates without trouble, dragging and dropping images and text into the placeholders... now, when I try, the image takes over the whole template area?   How can I get back to using the handy placeholders please?  Grateful for your reply a.s.a.p Thank you

Hi Jay !

I'm not sure what you're writing about.  Are you using the LS Template Labeler?

I couldn't figure out how you were dragging TEXT into the Text Item "placeholder", but I did drag an Image.

I put the IMAGE on my Desktop and could drag it to several I could drag and drop it to any Image Item or the "Drop Box" of a selected Image Item.

Could you be more descriptive of what you're trying to do?????

Thanks cimofj2 - and my apologies for writing in 'shorthand' !  What I meant was, when I first downloaded the free Lightscribe templates (which I found very handy) about a year ago, I was able to drag and drop jpg pix I wanted to include on the label, directly into the provided placeholders on the template and then adjust them for size b efore using the template as my label.    Now when I try, dragging any jpg into the placeholders seems to change the design, so that the template presents as one big photo; in other words I can't use than handy multiple image placeholders.   Weird, or what.   Can't think what I've done wrong, so am downloading the software again and will keep on trying.   Thanks for your interest.  Must say I'm totally impressed with your wide knowledge of the software, shown in your helpful replies to many posts !

Hello again Jay !

I've made this post on other threads, and you might find it interesting.

How I create Labels Containing a Track List

I've put together some stuff I use to create CD Labels.

  • I wrote up the procedure I use in a PDF File.
  • I make PDF Files of any Documentation I create.
  • I include an "Additional Stuff" Folder which contains anything I create while developing My Custom Templates.
  • I created ZIP Files for 6 Windows Vista "Right-Click" Commands I developed to support this and other procedures I use.
  • I "ripped off" the "Template Playlist Beta" ''Full" and "Half" Disk Templates; fixed them and create a ZIP File of the two templates.
  • I have a PDF that contains "Template vs. Simple Labelers" - a comparison of what is the structure of each template.
  • I have found 5 FREE Tools I use for development.
  • I have a PDF which contains a "Mini Resume" and a lot of "LightScribe Stuff"
  • I've researched.
  • I have developed 105 Custom Templates for the Template Labeler.
  • I have developed 4 collections of Images.
  • I have developed a New Custom Wedding Template for one Forum User and I did one for another Forum User a long time ago.
  • I have created Previews of all my Custom Templates.
  • I have developed 4 Test "borders" for the Simple Labeler.
  • I tend to concentrate on Filling the entire disk surface especially with TEXT, Bold, Outline, White Text, and More Font Control.
  • I have all this and more in My MS Office Live Workspace.
  • 54 Forum Users have taken my offer.

Send me a Private MESSAGE containing:

  • Your correct E-mail Address (Required to send links);
  • Your full name (For my records); and
  • A nickname you use (For my records).

Finally managed tonight to relog into the forums... It's taken me days, and my apologies to cimofj2 and any others  who posted a reply/replies!   Have now re-downloaded the software and the templates, but seem to be stil missing that "Mondrian" one.  Perhaps it's been withdrawn.
