New LG install and I get the runtime error and it locks up the burner every time.Won't burn image at all.
Please advise-thanks

Edit: I have everything current. Also I tried to burn image with Nero-got to 42% and the clock would count down to 11:30  minutes left and then reset itself to 11:44 as if it was looped. It would lock up when I tried to abort.I'd turn the pc off...then on and when I would eject  the disc(in Nero only) it burned half the image.

My old lite-on never gave me a problem-just broke down.

Again, thanks and pleaase advise.

I tried again in the labeler and it stuck at 20 minutes remaining with 10% of the image burned. The runtime message came up and the pc also locked up and had to turn it off and restart. The image did burn 10%

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Hi Artimus  !

I assume from what you said, you are using LSS V1.18.1.1 of all the updates.

It's not clear what version of NERO you are using.  I was using NERO 8, but am having no problems burning DATA with a Trial Version of NERO 9.

I exclusively use it to burn DATA and LS Template Labeler to burn LABELS.

From what you've said, it sounds like you use NERO to do both.

I haven't burned any Labels since updating to LSS V1.18.1.1, but the Diagnostic Utility says everything is OK so far.

Also, what is the full description of the media?

Have you tried re-burning the same disk?  I've had to that a few times.

Also, are you being successful burning the DATA?  If not, the drive may be out of calibration.  It still could be on the LABEL side.  LS uses marks in the hub area for media recognition, position and timing.  The DATA side only has to worry about the last two of these.

Hi cimofj2,

I've tried with both Nero 7 ultra(got a 42% burn) and the Template labeler(got a 20% burn) and sometimes I get nothing.I haven't tried to burn data-I'll do that tonight.

Also I have tries to burn the same disk but still get the partial burn.

Memorex 16x4.7 but I do have some Verbatin that I'll try.Got a lot of the Memorex and had no problem burning them with my old Lite-on 165 but it broke and I purchased the LG-GH22lS40.

The diagnostic utility says no configuration problems were found.

I'd like to thank you for your reply.

For some reason Nero has burned 2 dvd images, a Memerox and a Verbatin disc. Don't know why-didn't do anything different.

However the Lightscribe Template Labeler still doesn't. I only got to 1% and it stuck there.

Hello again Artimus  !

It kind of just clicked, about your problem with the C++ error.

It is probably a run-time error and Microsoft has a webpage that should let you download the latest C++ run-time library for free.

I don't remember what the URL is, but it should be relatively easy to find.

Unlike a lot of their searches, I think it should go to the correct place if you search for something like "C++ run-time" into the search on any MS search page.

Hi cimofj2,

Thanks for your help! I'm going to look for it and hope I can get the labeler working.

At least Nero seems like it's working now.

Thanks again, Artimus.

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue?  I can not bun a lighscribe label because of it.  I have tried an LG drive and currently a HT1070r SATA drive.  I have tried Nero 7, Acoustica, Lighsceibe simple and template label software all with the same results, the Visuall C++ runtime error.  Lightscribe diagnostics reports no errors, I have installed the 2008 Visual C++ runtime libraries from Microsoft, I believe the lates verson.  LSS version 1.18.4.1 running Wndows VISTA Ultimate.  Any help would bre appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Brent !

I've been thinking about your problem and have a question.

Did you try un-installing and re- installing all LS programs after you update the C++ Runtime Library?

Not sure if it will make a difference.
