The installation program refuses to install the basic programm of lightscribe, arguing that I've not the administrator rights. In French : Echec du démarrage du service LightScribeService Direct Disc Labeling Service (LightScribeService). Vérifiez que vous disposez de privilèges suffisants pour démarrer les services sytème. And then I got two buttons, retry or cancel. When retry I got the same error window, and cancel uninstall the program.
BUT
I'm connected on My PC with my administrator account !!!!
Where does this problem come from ?????
Thank you for your support greetings from France !!!

Hi stef rob !
The latest version is V1.18.3.2.
I also don't understand the French, but I'll try the translator that comes with Internet Explorer.

HP DVD1160i. This drive is installed and working perfectly except it is not recognised by light scribe. The version of lightscribe is 1.18.3.2 I downloaded the lightscribe diagnostics and the drive is not recognised. The 1160i is not listed on the HP Website, only Best Buy seems to be selling it. The only review on the BB site also reports that Light Scribe does not recognise the drive. The Drive uses a SATA interface. The drive is certified as Light Scribe. Any ideas? My operating system is XP and my computer meets or exceeds the system requirements.

Hi Derek !
One thing to be sure of, is if the drive has the media sensor next to the drive hub.
There a picture on the Forum somewhere.
It's a small block, not to be confused with the read/write head which moves.
This doesn't move.
The drive should also have the LightScribe "swoosh" marked on the draw.
