From Joshua (LightScribe Support) and his post about "Template Labeler"

?what do i need to make my own custom labels? or something like that.

You're going to need three similarly named files(different extension) in their respective locations.

1) a .lst file in

C:\Program Files\LightScribeTemplateLabeler\templatelabeler\content\templates\

2) a .jpg file in

C:\Program Files\LightScribeTemplateLabeler\templatelabeler\content\templates\backgrounds

3)  and another .jpg file in

C:\Program Files\LightScribeTemplateLabeler\templatelabeler\content\templates\thumbnails

As Lonetree mentioned, copying from an exisiting template(the 3 files) you could change the

image(please maintain the same dimensions in the copy as the file it was copied from i.e

thumbnails 128x128 backgrounds 1200x1200.

Adding Text boxes in diffent shapes and locations is more involved, but can also be done.

Let me know if anybody is interested

Make sure you don't ALSO put the template in:-

C:\Users\Owner\Documents\LightScribe\Templates

this is used by LightScribe for certain other templates and if you also put the stuff there you'll get DUPLICATES of your templates.

Sorry about the problems you may have with the other Topic, but refreshing will likely make the other Topic display completely.  That's why I created this new Topic.  It was getting too big.

You CAN copy the pictures and they WILL come out correctly and with the proper size (about 1200x1200).

Like I said before, I will be working on making the Diagonal.jpg 1200x1200, but the software (Paint.NET in particular) don't always cooperate.

I repaced three of the backgrouds.

  1. The one for the Custom Wedding Template;
  2. The one that has horizontal lines; and
  3. The one that has diagonal lines.

I tried to get the emoticons out of some of the XML code for the labels, but I think they are erronious and are mis-displayed ":' or some other special character that isn't being displayed correctly.  If you copy them, check to see they aren't really there.

Hi Everyone !!!

I've used the 5 colored discs that someone from LightScribe Support posted on another topic, and a little Paint.NET work, to generate 5 new templates that could possibly be used with the single colored discs to  generate very special disc appearances.  If you'd like to get them, send me a message with your Email address and I'll send them to you.

Sorry I couldn't post them, but from the other topic being so difficult, it will be better that way!!!   You can use the MESSAGE option on this website to send your request.

I'll share a little of what might be called my profile.

I am retired because of a stoke,so I have a lot of time on my hands even with the problems that caused.  This typing is therapy for me.

I retired first from DuPont after 25 years then retired from EDS after 10 years because of the stroke.

I worked for both as a Senior Process Control Engineer.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, and a Masters Degree in Computer Science specializing in Systems, Compilers, and Artificial Intelligence.

So you can see this is playtime for me!!!

I didn't understand everything you were referring to, but I am willing to share whatever I do with whoever wants the stuff I make!!!

PS Are you in England?  It seems like there's a time difference in your answers.

It should be easy to generate ZIP files for selected label, but I'm still not sure of the best way to get them shared.  I could Email the ZIP files, but I could only describe what I've done verbally.

I would really prefer to let the Forum to select how they would like us to do sharing

They don't seem to be very quick to do anything about it, the only guys I see the most of are Joshua and John.  Neither of them seem to be the webmaster.

If either is, this editor that I'm using seems like it would allow it if some of the feaures weren't turned off.

I took what could be a first start.  I've generated 3 ZIP files that contain some of the stuff I've worked on.

Color Discs & Misc Stuff.zip

Which contains Backgrounds & Thumbnails of the Colored LightScribe Discs.

Colored Labels.zip

Which contains the labels made for the colored discs, like the Basketball, the DaVinci, the BioHazard, the Matrix, and the Radioactive Labels.

And

Custom Labels.zip

Which contains the three Custom Labels I post in this thread under the firt topic.

If you want them, send me your Email address.

HI Flatspeed   and everybody else!!!

I took Flatspeed's advise and posted my ZIP Files on

Microsoft's Office Live Workplace under "LightScribe ZIP Files" but it looks like I still need Email addresses to Share and send Notifications to whoever is interested.

You can use the MESSAGE function under the Forum to get Emails from people.
