For several years I've had no problems using the LG burner that came with my computer to make Lightscribe cds. A few weeks ago I started getting errors that said there was a hardware problem. I went to the Lightscribe site looking for help and downloaded the current system software and the Template labeler. Every thing worked fine again.
After burning about 5 cd labels I suddenly have a problem with the software hanging up. When I get to the print step it starts looking for the media and never gets past that point until it comes back with "Not Responding". If I go to the control panel everything is fine unless I click on the System Information tab. Then it just hangs up until I get the same "Not Responding".
I tried uninstalling everything, shutting down, then reloading again but nothing changed. I downloaded the Diagnostic utility and it says there are no errors or problems until I press the Scan for Media button then the same thing happens there too.
Any ideas on this?

Any problem reading or burning the data side of discs? Was the error message you were getting a Windows or a Lightscribe error message? Was there an error number or hex number displayed?

No problem burning or reading the discs. I burned about ten and was in the process of doing the label sides. Got about half way through when the problem started. I'm using Vista with all updates installed as well as up-to-date firmware for the LG burner.
There's no error number or code. When you click the tab or buttons mentioned instead of completing the action in a few seconds as normal it sits there for a few minutes like it's thinking or trying to complete the task but never does. Eventually it will add the message at the top of the window in the header. So, for the Control Panel, after the Lightscribe icon in the upper left it says "LightScribe Control Panel (Not Responding)".
Was just about to send this and tried one more time so I could confirm the details. Now it's working again. We'll see for how long.
