Hi there ..

just new to lightscribe ... I've installed the lightscribe software and designed a label with Ashampoo Burning Studio 10.

When trying to print, I get the preview page - looks OK that far. When I cklick "print", the print progress image tells to need about 25 minutes, but finishes extremely fast ( < 30 seconds). Then the drive tray opens.

The disc is as virgin as I did insert it - nothing happened to it.

System:

  • Win7 x64
  • LG BH10LS30
  • up-to-date lightscribe software & drive drivers
  • several beboots after installation.

What's wrong ?

I use Roxio Express Labeller, so your results may vary.  Something like that happens to me sometimes, except that I get an error saying it does not recognize the disk as a LightScribe label.  Usually jiggling the disk in the tray and trying again does the trick.  Occasionally I have just had to trash the disk and try another.

I'm using an HP Pavillion dv9825nr Notebook PC, running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.
I also have an HP Pavilion dv6-2155dx Notebook PC, running Windows 7 Home Premium.
I also have an HP PhotoSmart C8180 All-In-One Printer.  Both have built-in LS Drives.
Each has a built-in LS Drive.
Everything has been running LSS fine since 4/08.

I use Memorex disks and also HP disks almost all the time, because they are the only ones I seem to find.

If I have any problems with labeling a disk, I clean the center (hub) of the disk before burning the LABEL side first.

I use the LS Template Labeler for the LABEL side and NERO 10 for the DATA side.

I had trouble with the first two spindles I bought.

One disk had a bad DATA side and another (Memorex) had to be re-cleaned in the center (hub) of the disk 3 times of 20 turns of the cleaner, but it burned successfully.

I've also fooled around a little with the LS Simple Labeler.

I've developed 417 Custom Templates (in 67 Collections + 8 Private Ones), 108 Images (in 12 Collections), 174 Icons, and 4 Test Background Images for the LS SL, and have shared them with 361 Forum Users.

Got the same problem. I insert the lightscribe media, press print, the printing starts and finishes in cca. 10 sec. The media is ejected and "printing successful" message appears, but the media is blank - no recording took place. Have tried with Lightscribe Template Laberer, SureThing and Droppix. All the same. I did also tried with some older drivers i found on the internet and no go.. Any help?

I FIXED the problem by inserting the DVD-RW's SATA cable into another SATA port on the motherboard. Now it works ok!
