Cant believe i just spent £300+ on a Systor duplicator with LS and im still having to lightscribe the discs singularly because the new software writes the files as LSL and not LSI files grrrrrr

According to Systor the "Save" selection generates a .lsl file.  The "print" selection generates the .lsi file the duplicator needs for multiple simultaneous Lightscribe disc burning. You burn the .lsi file on a CD and place in in the copy tray of the duplicator. The "print" function on the duplicator that you disconnect from the host PC then will burn multiple Lightscribe trays. The CD that provides the software and the instructions that detail the process are included in the duplicator box. Bottom line, you can burn multiple simultanious Lightscribe discs but the procedure is different depending on the interface, w/ or w/o a harddrive in the duplicator, etc.

Did you disconnect the duplicator from the host PC?

Ah what i did notice is the w/ or w/o a hard drive installed , my Systor has no hard drive installed perhaps this is why ? i saved the lsi file by using the steps in the program to " save i.e. print " and not the save as option and then burned the lsi file to a cd , im wondering do i need a particular program to burn the lsi file to cd or will the windows OP do this for me without problems , i make my dvd's on my windows 7 machine but made the lsi file on my vista laptop buddy

I PM'd you. They are telling me the most common cause for that error message is an incorrect duplicator selection during the software installation. The duplicator should NOT be connected to the PC when you install the software but the model selection is critical for the PC to generate a proper .lsi file which then is burned to a CD on the host computer. I have a toll free United States vendor phone number available but I'm afraid by the sounds of your posts you are in the UK or down under.

If you are going to try a software reinstall be sure you uninstall ALL components of Lightscribe (system, LTL, diag utility, etc) AND remove the duplicator from Device Manager if it was attached to your PC when installing the Lightscribe software. Then do your reinstall and select the model number of your duplicator manually. Be sure you use the Lightscribe software that is on the CD that came with the duplicator because the Lightscribe labeling software is different and proprietary for the duplicator to function and to be able to generate a proper .lsi file on your PC. If your model is a stand alone unit it should never be connected to a PC. (Unless you have the bottom tray configured as a shared network optical drive but that's a whole other can of worms) Be sure you are using an Admin logon.
