My friend bought a batch of Sony DVDs that are supposed to be lightscibeable. Actually there was a whole batch of them that were burned and labeled for her by someone else but when I try to label them with my lightscribe writer it won't recognize the DVD. I was able to say the video to it but can't label and I know the labeler is working because I tried with some HP Lightscribe DVDs and had no problems. Is there other software I need to make the writer recognize the Sony DVD?

I can't get SONY Media where I am, so I don't have any experience.
DVDs hace an extra layer of plastic which can effect Detection.
Try cleaning the LABEL side near the disk's HUB.
This has the LS Marks that are used for Media Detection, Positioning, & Timing.
