Help me get started. I buned my first Lightscribe disc today. I'm using TDK Lightscribe discs. The top of the disc is a dull golden/brown. I picked a colorful Lightscribe label to burn . I got NO color, and the whole thing is very dim and dull looking. The simple design was burned in, as well as the title I had added. It took 16 minutes on a brand new powerful computer. I hate to give up and say it's not worth the effort at this point. The computer is a new HP desktop with a Lightscribe 16X CD/DVD burner. Can anyone tell me what to expect regarding colors and speed. Are the TDK Lightscribe discs O.K. Thanks for any help Phillip

Hi Philip !
Some users have reported problems with TDK Media, but LightScribe ONLY burns in Grayscale.
Disk with a colored LABEL side are available, but you can ONLY make the surface darker by putting Grayscale over the base color.
You can darken the LABEL by using the LS Control Panel.
Labeling takes from 15 to 30 minutes to burn a LABEL.
The reason is that un-like DATA which only burns as much of the disk as needed, while a LABEL must burn the entire surface to make an Image.
Hope that explains the technology!

Thanks for the info. I will look for the discs with color on the label side. That should brighten it up somewhat. Phillip
