I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but I recently updated my LS firmware to the latest version and am using the "high contrast" setting and find the quality actually LIGHTER than before.  Quite the opposite of what it's supposed to be.

Hi davidsco27 !

Are you trying to use the LightScribe Control Panel?

The Template Labeler Preview and Print Dialog Box uses "Best","Normal" and "Draft" for the "Contrast level:" setting.

I believe the Control Panel is currentlysupposed to be non-functional.

Please check your facts BEFORE posting. The control panel IS fully functional, and has a selection choice of high contrast, or default.  I had it set to High Contrast. The Roxio software I use has a Best, Normal or Draft setting, and it was set to Best, as has in the past. AGAIN, with the new firmware, and the setting on High Contrast, the results were poor

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE NASTY!!!!!

I was just trying to help.  My reply was based on the statement by LightScribe:

"Due to the popularity of the extended label contrast utility, it has been incorporated into the LightScribe System Software (LSS) for easier installation and use.

To continue enjoying the higher contrast settings, please download the most recent version of the LightScribe System Software, and activate the enhanced contrast settings by clicking on the new LightScribe system tray icon in the lower right corner of your screen.

Once the higher contrast setting is activated on the LSS 1.6.xx.1 or later LightScribe Control Panel, any previously installed ELCU programs and desktop icons will no longer be necessary and can be safely uninstalled."

I stand corrected, in the latest version (1.18.8.1) LS DID update the LightScribe Control Panel!!!

I was under the impression that the statement above was referring to IT.

I didn't know they were referring to a DIFFERENT program!!!!!

AGAIN, please check your facts BEFORE posting. I realize you were trying to help, but instead, you wasted people's time.  The only thing worse than no information is WRONG information, and unfortunately, the web, and this industry is filled with that. Now, if someone else who has something helpful to say would like to respond, that would be welcome

davidsco27 your posts are really quite irritating to read, somewhat arrogant, immature & self righteous. Earn respect by giving it instead of acting like a tool. (or like a bratty kid in grade school)

Hi bananasplit !

It has been a long time since his last post, maybe reporting him and asking for him to be barred from this Forum got LS Forum's &/or LS Support's attention and he was barred!

He was very arrogant for someone looking for help, but he did make me take another look at the LS Control Panel and running some tests.

I will admit I was wrong and have since recommended users try it to see if it works for them like it did for me.

Oh Well! LOL
